Monthly Review & Reconciliation
/ Timeline
for Sponsored Projects / Calendar
The purpose of the Monthly Expenditure
Review is to identify and correct
mistakes in a timely manner. To
accomplish this, expenditures
need to be reviewed promptly after
the end of each month. Stanford
defines a timely monthly review
as one that is completed within
two months of the last day of
the month being reviewed.
After each academic quarter,
Principal Investigators will
certify that
quarter's expenditures for allocability
to the project which is providing
the funds or for which Stanford
is cost-sharing. This certification
also needs to be completed in
a timely manner, defined as
within
two months of the end of the
academic quarter being certified.
To be considered timely, any transfers
of expenses for an academic quarter
must be initiated within the same
time limits as for the PI's certification.
