ePTA System Information

The Electronic Project Task Award system, or ePTA, collects data for the set-up of a new Project, Task and Award (PTA) in the Oracle Financial System. ePTA replaces the paper form used to request and create new PTA’s by utilizing the internet and its own internal email function. It is currently used only for ‘NEW AWARD’ Project, Task and Award (PTA) set-ups. Please call your Office of Sponsored Research (OSR) contact for information regarding changes to existing PTA’s.

The data fields in ePTA are very similar to the PTA paper forms with minimal additions or changes to PTA terminology. Upon the issuance of a notice of award, the OSR Representative will initiate an electronic PTA form to clients in departments. The email subject line will read, “New PTA Request to approve – SPO#_ _ _ _ _ _”. Within the body of the email will be a “Click here to view” link to the ePTA website and the ePTA.

Technical Information

The ePTA system was built for Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher, and " java script" must be turned on while using this site. To do this, go to the tools menu in Internet Explorer and click "HELP-About Internet Explorer". This should show you what version you have. If you have additional questions about Internet Explorer or your personal setup, please submit a HelpSU ticket. Questions regarding ePTA can be directed to:
