Best Tactics for use on New NIH Short Form
The NIH modified their grant applications and procedures in early 2010. On March 31, 2010, the Principal Investigators Association invited Karin Rodland, Chief Scientist for NIH Programs for Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and former NIH Reviewer to present a one-hour workshop on:
- Changes to NIH Grant Application Procedures
- Restructured Application Forms
- Alignment of Application with Review Criteria
- Impact – and how to write for it
Listen to the audio of the conference and follow along with the powerpoint slides. There is also some follow-up Q&A which has additional tips and information, as well as a copy of the NIH Reviewer Template.
This presentation is good for all PIs, but would be exceptionally good for early investigators or new investigators. And, while the forms are a little different, the information on preparation and review would be good for any fellows to hear as well.
NIH Funding Opportunities, Peer Review and Grant Writing
Originally presented by Anthony Coelho, Ph.D., Review Policy Officer, NIH as
a workshop at Stanford University, December 14, 2004.
Additionally, you should check the Enhancing Peer Review page put up by the NIH. It has tools and information on their Peer Review Process and continuous evaluation of peer review.
Responsible Use of University Funds
