Patent Reporting

Patent reports are the responsibility of the PI and/or Institutional Official. Some agencies (DOD or NIH for example) have their own form to use in reporting inventions, and require that the University certify the absence of an invention as well as the presence of one.   PIs are responsible for disclosing inventions arising under sponsored projects to the Office of Technology Licensing.  That office, as well as other central research administration offices such as OSR, RMG and ERA, will assist in completing the necessary patent disclosure and technology licensing reports on their awards.
