Service Centers
Stanford has schools or departments which operate facilities or research lab as a self-sustaining “businesses” that provide on-going products or services in support of the University’s teaching and research functions. These service centers, which may support departments or the entire campus, provides cost savings via services / products to internal Stanford users and on a very limited basis will provide services / products to users external to Stanford. Service Centers must recover their operational costs annually through rate(s) to users based on an approved budget & approved rate(s).

Lisa Ciambrone has replaced Ken Schulz as the RAPC service center analyst for the School of H&S
service centers and Facilities Procurement. Please refer to the current list of service centers contacts
for additional information.
If your service center was coded as not allowable for non-registered stem cell activity that restriction
has been removed with the recent presidential mandate. Check the revised University stem cell web
page for further information.
FY09 Year End Close Calendar is available on the FIRS Year End Close website. It lists the
Soft and Hard Close dates for year end processing in September 2009. The schedule is
subject to change and includes weekend hard close dates. Please note these dates before
planning your fall vacation.
