Final Fringe Benefits Rates for FY2023

Stanford and the Office of Naval Research (ONR) have signed the final agreement for the Fringe Benefits and Vacation Accrual/Disability Sick Leave rates for fiscal year 2023. These rates are effective beginning September 1, 2022. The rates are as follows:
FY2023 Final Fringe Benefits and Vacation Accrual/Disability Sick Leave Rates
Regular Benefits-eligible Employees 28.70% (Note 1)
Post-Doctoral Research Affiliates 25.10%
Contingent Employees 6.90%
Graduate Assistants 5.90%
Vacation Accrual/Disability Sick Leave rates (applicable to only Regular Benefits Eligible staff):
Exempt, Nonexempt, and bargaining unit staff 8.80%
Note 1: This does not include the combined 2.2% of TGP and supplemental fringe rate charged against Regular Benefits Eligible employee salaries for non-government projects/accounts only. The 2.2% contributes to the University's fund for continuation of the Tuition Grant Program for children of faculty and staff as well as supplemental fringe benefits.
