NIH Biosketch and Other Support Forms - SciENcv required beginning January 25, 2026
The NIH is implementing the Common Forms (Biosketch and Current and Pending (Other) Support) for all applications and RPPRs submitted on or after January 25, 2026. With the implementation:
- Applicants/Recipients will be required to use Science Experts Network Curriculum Vitae (SciENcv) for preparing and certifying NIH Biosketch and Current and Pending (Other) Support) forms to produce digitally certified PDFs for use in application submission.
- The NIH also will require all Senior/Key Personnel to link their ORCID ID to SciENcv.
- Currently preview versions of the NIH Common Forms (Biosketch and Current and Pending (Other) Support) are available within SciENcv. These preview documents allow users to save, reopen, and edit the preview forms in the SciENcv module. However, the download PDF functionality is disabled, and the form(s) and data entered into the preview versions will be deleted and no longer accessible once the official NIH Common Forms become available for preparation and submission. Under no circumstances may applicants or recipients use the preview documents for submissions to NIH. During this preview period, applicants and recipients must continue to use the current NIH Biosketch and Other Support Format Pages for all submissions to NIH until NIH’s official implementation of the Common Forms. NIH anticipates finalizing the templates in SciENcv for NIH Common Forms, the NIH Biographical Sketch Supplement, and associated instructions the week of December 15, 2025. Stay tuned for updates!
- The Supporting Documentation (copies of contracts specific to senior/key-personnel foreign appointments and/or employment with a foreign institution for all foreign activities and resources) reported with Current and Pending (Other) Support are not added in SciENcv. They will be added as a separate flattened attachment in eRA JIT, RPPR and Prior Approval modules.
- Individuals can refer to the NIH Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) re the Common Forms for Biographical Sketch and Current and Pending (Other) Support for more information.
Current Faculty/Investigator Action Item
Access your SciENcv account and delegate access to your [research] administrator(s) to allow them ample time to familiarize themselves with SciENcv and to facilitate with the data entry for your NIH Biosketch and Current and Pending (Other) Support forms once they become available. For clarity, delegation of access should not be to your Grants RPM or OSR Contracts & Grants Officer.
Delegates can create, modify, and/or delete the information in the SciENcv account(s) to which they have been granted access. Step-by-step instructions for delegating SciENcv access are available on the ORA SciENcv Resources page.
Note: The certification of Biosketches and/or Current and Pending (Other) Support MAY NOT be delegated to administrators. While administrators can assist in the preparation of investigator(s) Biosketches and/or Current and Pending (Other) Support in SciENcv through delegate access, each investigator MUST download and certify their SciENcv generated Biosketches and/or Current and Pending Support from SciENcv themselves.
Reminder: Until the Common Forms are fully adopted by NIH, NIH requests applicants and recipients use the current NIH Biosketch and Other Support formats for applications, Just-in-Time (JIT) Reports, and RPPRs.
